SUMMARY:‘Needs-Based’ Reconciliation Model / SOC
DESCRIPTION:The Faculty of Philosophy organises a round table conference and a discussion on the topic of reconciliation within the Fortress of Peace ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/fortress-of-peace/ ) programme arch, in the Creative District, on 25 June.\nThe model based on needs is one of the modern theoretical approaches to reconciliation, which, at the same time, is very easy to use in practice.\nWhen the conflict ends, groups and perpetrators have different needs that stem from different identity threats they experience. Victims want to regain power and status, while perpetrators strive to justify their crimes and be accepted. However, in reality, groups often fight for the role of a victim since it is more moral to be a victim than a perpetrator. The competition for the status of a victim prevents satisfying those needs and achieving reconciliation among groups.\nSpeakers:\nNurit Shnabel (Tel Aviv University)\nMasi Noor (Keele University)\nRezarta Bilali (NYU Steinhardt)\nModerator: Tijana Karić\nLanguage: English\nThe programme is supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum ( https://www.bmeia.gv.at/sr/austrijski-kulturni-forum-beograd/ ).\nPhoto: Promo\n
