SUMMARY:Kijube / Flags of the Future
DESCRIPTION:The ‘Flags of the Future’ ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/flags-of-the-future/ ) programme, within the Future of Europe ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/future-of-europe/ ) programme arch, will begin with a unique Jazz Marathon of European Capitals of Culture on 28 April. \nOn the Stage 4, Kijube will perform at 11 p.m.\nDuring the multi-hour programme, the audience from Novi Sad will be introduced to 7 young jazz ensembles from former, current and future European capitals of culture. The concert will show new tendencies and directions in jazz music in Europe.\nKijube, founded in 2018 in Budapest, has a hybrid sound extracted from the world of downtempo, trip-hop and electronics. The singer and keyboardist of the trio is Kinga Judit Bende, who is also the author of most of the lyrics (the rest is the work of Tez Katayala, an Australian songwriter). The band’s first/debut song, Silent Creatures, won the third place in the 2018 ‘Promising Titans’ Hungarian song contest.\n\nInitially, the band worked as a studio project, but after positive feedback from professional circles, the trio focused on the world of live concerts.
