SUMMARY:Unwritten Land / EYE.net 2.0
DESCRIPTION:The play ‘Unwritten Land’, is the last play that will be performed as part of the theatre festival that was created as a result of the EYE.net 2.0 project ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/european-youth-engagement-network-2-0-%d0%b5ye-net-2-0-3/ ) (European Youth Engagement Network 2.0), on the Small Stage of Youth Theatre on 7 April at 8 p.m. The play will be performed by project participants from Greece. The festival is part of the Schools of the Future ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/schools-of-the-future/ ) programme unit, which focuses on the youth and their involvement in artistic, educational and social activities.\nAbout the play:\nWith the Hellenic landscape ravaged by wildfires, and suffering the consequences of the global climate crisis, more and more groups and individuals are seeking answers and looking for solutions. The installation of wind turbines throughout the domain has proven to be a lightning rod for controversy since its inception, with more than 20,000 turbines in over 1,500 locations currently under consideration. The centre of this debate is the mountainous region of Agrafa (meaning unwritten in Greek), an invaluable natural resource that is presently being groomed as a possible location for a wind-energy park. While this would be a welcome step in our national commitment to using renewable energy sources and limiting carbon dioxide emissions, the toll it would take on the natural landscape is devastating and cannot be ignored. Unwritten Land offers a unique opportunity to voice our concerns and pose thought-provoking questions, calling for active participation and cooperation across Europe.\nArtistic mentorship: Yolanda Markopoulou, Dimitris Georgiadis\nMusic: Lumiere Brother\nYoung co-creators and performers: Menelaos Kyparissis / Lida Manousou Alexiou / Natalia Peleka / Theodosis Tanis / Tasos Provias / Andriani Neokleous / Stavriana Kadi\nWith the support of the Greek Art Theatre ‘Karolos Koun’ and the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports.\nAbout the festival:\nThe theatre festival, created within the EYE.net 2.0 project, will be held from 5 to 8 April in Novi Sad high schools and Zone 021. By turning schools into art scenes and cultural institutions into centres of education, the ‘EYE.net’ project engages young people who, through working with excellent artists as mentors, create their own content, i.e., theatre performances. Their topics are current and acceptable to a wider audience. Some of the frameworks for young people to create include Euroscepticism, solidarity, fake news, ecology, anti-fascism, economy, and others.\nParticipants from each country chose one topic to tackle, from 5 to 8 April, fans of the engaged theatre will have the pleasure to see the Czech play ‘Marshal Konev’s Last Battle’ ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/marshal-konevs-last-battle-eye-net-2-0/ ), the French play ‘Turn Before the Ruins’ ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/turn-before-the-ruins-eye-net-2-0/ ), a play from Germany ‘Why?’ ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/why-eye-net-2-0/ ), ‘Do You Like Tomato Sauce?’ ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/do-you-like-tomato-sauce-eye-net-2-0/ ) from Italy, ‘The Noise of the Silence’ ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/the-noise-of-the-silence-eye-net-2-0/ ) from Lithuania, ‘Some Like it Fake’ ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/some-like-it-fake-eye-net-2-0/ ) from Slovenia, as well as ‘Testament’ ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/testament-eye-net-2-0/ ) from Serbia. After or during each of the performances there will be an interactive debate with the young audience.\nAdmission to all festival performances is free.\nPhoto: Promo\n
