SUMMARY:B&B Workshop – Intensive Two-Day Workshop for Bassists and Drummers
DESCRIPTION:A two-day workshop for bassists and drummers will be held on 12 and 13 April at the Barka Cultural Station, within the Future of Europe ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/future-of-europe/ ) programme arch.\nThe workshop will cover a large number of topics related to playing drums and bass guitar, it will answer many of your musical questions, and provide clear methodological guidelines for your further musical development regardless of your level. The two-day workshop for drummers and bassists is based on lecturers’ many years of playing and pedagogical experience, as well as on the knowledge gained during studies at the most prestigious music academy in the world – Berklee College of Music in Boston. It is designed to provide participants with systematic knowledge and skills in the field of playing drums and bass guitars and to present you with the concepts that some of the most famous and successful musicians of today have based their studies and practises on.\nThe workshop is divided into 2 days. On the first day, the drummers will work with drum professor Branko Popović and bass guitar professor Vladimir Samardžić. On the second day, the drummers will attend a lecture by bass guitar professor Vladimir Samardžić, and after that a lecture by drum professor Branko Popović, from whom they get very useful information about the ‘bassist-drummer’ relationship, as well as the opportunity to play with them. This is a very important experience for all participants because the focus is shifting toward working together and experiencing music within the rhythm section.\nAfter these lectures, participants will be instructed to work with each other in separate rhythm sections, apply the knowledge gained during the first day, and prepare for the final performance. At the end of the second day, all participants perform within the rhythm sections with the prepared programme.\nDrummers must bring their drumsticks, something to write on, drum pads and stands for them. Drummers need to know the basics of rhythmic notation.\nBassists must bring their own bass guitars, something to write on, tuners, jack-jacks and bass guitar stands. Bassists must know basic rhythmic notations and music theories (elementary school).\nThe number of participants is limited to 10 drummers and 10 bassists. All those interested can apply at program@ns2022.rs\n
