DESCRIPTION:A mysterious duo from Croatia will also be part of this year’s Doček. The band Nipplepeople will perform in the Suburbium of the Petrovaradin Fortress, in the Prote Mihaldžića Square on New Year’s Eve, within the unique exhibition ‘Tesla – Light Gallery’ ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/tesla-light-gallery/ ), which connects art and science.\nThe concert is scheduled for 31 December, while Nipplepeople ( https://www.instagram.com/nipplepeopleofficial/ ) will take the stage 15 minutes before midnight and introduce the citizens of Novi Sad to 2022, when Novi Sad will hold the European Capital of Culture title.\nNipplepeople have been active on the regional music scene since 2008. Performing wearing masks, they have never revealed their identity, while they achieved popularity across the former Yugoslavia with the hit single ‘Sutra’.\nThe entrance is free of charge.\n\nThe ‘Tesla Light Gallery’  ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/tesla-light-gallery/ )is a product of the creative synergy of several famous international artists from different cities, who are proud of the European Capital of Culture title. A group of artists will take citizens through the inspiring spaces of the Baroque town, transformed through powerful art interventions. Space installations will reveal the different aspects of light as a tool for artistic expression that puts into focus diverse Tesla’s discoveries, as well as Tesla’s unfulfilled dreams.\nThe Rainbow Bridge, historic buildings in Beogradska Street and the Belgrade Gate itself – all architectural objects we will pass by – will be transformed into a monumental play of light, movement and sound through fixed, dynamic, wireless and interactive audio-visual lighting technologies, including 3D projections.
