SUMMARY:Workshop on Nutrition and Climate Changes / Ecoprint
DESCRIPTION:The third workshop on the theme of food, eating habits and climate changes within the ‘Ecoprint’ project will be held in the Svilara Cultural Station on Wednesday, 13 April from 3 until 6:30 p.m.\nThe workshop will be led by Dr Jasna Mastilović and their team from the Institute of Food Technology in Novi Sad. Željko Mitkovski, manager of the ‘Save Food’ project by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation will participate in the programme. During three and a half hours of active, collaborative work, we will address the issues of the carbon footprint of the food industry, the impact of climate changes on food production, citizens’ eating habits and solutions to reduce food waste.\nIn the beginning, Dr Mastilović will present the scientific framework of the closed cause-and-effect cycle between food production and climate changes and the feedback on the impact of increased greenhouse gas emissions on food production. Participants and the audience will have a chance to talk about their own food choices and habits and discuss their understanding of the carbon footprint of the groceries they use.\nThe second part of the workshop will take place through two modules of interactive work during which the team from the Institute of Food Technology will work with the participants. Participants will also discuss the legal framework for taxing food donations and systemic attempts to give food surpluses to those who need them most. For the very end, organisers designed a series of tasks dedicated to food waste and what we as individuals can do along the way.\nThe workshop is open to interested audiences and experts who are invited to participate in the discussion and interactive part of the programme.\nYou can find more information about the workshop and the ‘Ecoprint’ project here ( https://elementarium.cpn.rs/u-centru/ishrana-i-klimatske-promene/ ).\nPhoto: Promo\n
