DESCRIPTION:A panel discussion on ‘Oppression or Emancipation’ and a screening of the film ‘Gledanje u kaldrmu’ (Look at the Cobblestones) will be held at the Svilara Cultural Station on 26 May, as part of the ‘Shawl as a Cultural Signifier’ project of the Heroines ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/heroine/ ) programme arch.\nPanel participants: Fahrudin Kladinčanin and Gordana Stojaković\nThe documentary ‘Gledanje u kaldrmu’ focuses on a historical period, that is, a political system whose collapse opened new interests and debates about the status of women in the Sandžak society of that time. In a broader sense, the entire film is based on the awareness of the need to create a history of women in Sandžak, in order to make their presence, their story, visible in the real history of the city.
