DESCRIPTION:The first panel discussion within the project ‘In Search of Europe’, entitled ‘Dealing with the Past – Looking at the Future’, will be held at the Svilara Cultural Station on 2 July as part of the Fortress of Peace ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/fortress-of-peace/ ) programme arch.\nThe debate program will be organized within the programs ‘In Search of Europe’ and ‘Open Process’\nIn the first part of the program, starting from the exhibition ‘In Search of Europe’ ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/in-search-of-europe/ ) exhibited on 10 panels on the Novi Sad quay, from the entrance to Štrand to KC Svilara, we discuss the topic of dealing with the past and the culture of memory at European and national level. a new wave of anti-Semitism and the distortion and politicization of history.\nPanelists:\nprof. Dr. Aleksandar Jerkov, Director of the University Library ‘Svetozar Markovic’\nDr. Vojislav Klačar, President of the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS) and Professor at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts\nSunčica Marković, Deputy Director of the Cultural Center of Novi Sad, cultural worker\nIn the second part of the program, starting from the exhibition ‘Open Process’ ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/the-open-process/ ) exhibited at KC Svilara, we discuss the radicalization of the right, violence against minorities, and the culture of remembering the suffering of Roma during World War II, with the following guests:\nPanelists:\nMarta Stojić Mitrović, ethnologist-anthropologist, research associate of the Ethnographic Institute of SANU,\nLjuan Koka, journalist and screenwriter, political scientist,\nAleksandar Marković, Legal Adviser, Forum of Roma of Serbia, Master of European Integration, Assistant at the Faculty of Law, Megatrend,\n– Moderator: Miško Stanišić, Terraforming\n’In Search of Europe’ is a multi-layered multimedia concept that combines several types of expression and different ways of interacting with the audience, including an exhibition, debates with international guests, and online production.\nThis is a story about the creation of post-war Europe and the Europe we have yet to create. Several historical figures will serve as symbolic guides through the historical and social processes of post-Holocaust Europe. We will get acquainted with the dilemmas faced by post-war Europe and the social changes that enabled the creation of Europe as we know it today.
