DESCRIPTION:During The Danube Sea ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/the-event-calendar-danube-sea/ ) programme arch, we will have the opportunity to listen to the performance of Nenad Vasilić with the jazz ensemble ‘Bass&Strings’ on 27 July at 9 p.m. at the Pavilion on Štrand ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/pavilion-on-strand/ ), which will be realised as part of the ‘Jazz on the Danube’ event.\nNenad Vasilić presents his latest project – ‘Nenad Vasilić Bass&Strings’.\nThe ‘Bass&Strings’ project is a jazz ensemble in which the Nenad Vasilić Trio (double bass, accordion, saxophone) is joined by a string quartet, bringing Vasilić’s music to us in a different way.\nThe common denominator of all compositions is double bass/bass, while ‘Trio’ and ‘Bass&Strings’ alternate in their performances, or the compositions are performed by all the members of ‘Bass&Strings’. The repertoire consists of original and spiritual compositions arranged by Vasilić.\nIn 2020, this ensemble had a very notable premiere performance at the Porgy & Bess Club in Vienna, and then a performance at the Belgrade Jazz Festival. They continue their concert activities at the ‘Jazz on the Danube’ event, where we will have the opportunity to hear them at Novi Sad’s Štrand on 27 July.\nNenad Vasilić has been actively performing for the last twenty-five years, has written more than 40 original compositions, and has released 13 albums so far.\nVasilić is also actively involved in the education of young musicians, and in 2020 he was appointed professor and head of the Department of String Instruments at the Jazz Institute in Berlin, at the Berlin University of the Arts.\n
