DESCRIPTION:The informal gathering ‘Get Together’ as part of the multidisciplinary event ‘Becoming an Island’ will take place on Štrand on 25 July from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.\nThe event belongs to The Danube Sea ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/the-event-calendar-danube-sea/ ) programme arch and is part of the ‘Štrand Pavilion” ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/pavilion-on-strand/ ) programme that will last from 22 to 31 July on Novi Sad’s most famous beach.\nYou are invited to an informal Get Together with the DTAFA Crew!\nLearn more on how to become an island for the Little ringed plover, join our experiments, witness our trials and errors; all while enjoying a refreshing lemonade straight from the Danube. \nThis could already be your first step of becoming an island! \n‘Becoming an Island’ is a pilot programme of The Danube Transformation Agency for Agency (DTAFA) led by artists Solmaz Farhang, Alexandra Fruhstorfer, Ege Kökel and Lena Violetta Leitner.\nThe experimental agency developed a pioneering step-by-step training programme that enables human beach goers to become an island for the Little Ringed Plover (Charadrius dubius). After successfully completing the courses you will be well equipped with skills and tools to become a resting, mating and breeding ground for this migratory bird during their seasonal stay in Novi Sad. DTAFA combines visual art, design, science and advocacy for the future of the Danube.\nFrom 22 to 31 July, visitors are invited to learn more about the pilot programme and try out some of the training while enjoying a Danube refreshment at the DTAFA stand.\nCome by and embody the restoration of the bird’s habitat with us!\nPhoto: DTAFA, created with the kind support of the Bird Collection, Natural History Museum Vienna\n
