DESCRIPTION:As part of the multidisciplinary event ‘Becoming an Island’, a gathering ‘Karaoke: It’s Not a Closing Party’ will be held on 29 July, from 7 to 8 p.m., on Štrand.\nThe event is part of The Danube Sea ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/the-event-calendar-danube-sea/ ) programme arch, and it is held within the Pavilion on Štrand  ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/pavilion-on-strand/ )programme, which will last from 22 to 31 July at the most famous Novi Sad beach.\n‘’Cause all of me loves all of you\nLove your curves and all your edges\nAll your perfect imperfections\nGive your all to me, I′ll give my all to you’\nThis is not a closing party.\nThis is a celebration of our journey towards becoming an island.\nThis is a passionate, sometimes crooked trilled love song for a tiny bird we still have not met in real life but try to care for with all of our body and mind.\nCome to our singalong and share our passion for the Little ringed plover!\nWe will provide you with a specially tailored list of songs and some bird island ice teas!\n‘Becoming an Island’ is a pilot programme of The Danube Transformation Agency for Agency (DTAFA) led by artists Solmaz Farhang, Alexandra Fruhstorfer, Ege Kökel and Lena Violetta Leitner.\nThe experimental agency developed a pioneering step-by-step training programme that enables human beachgoers to become an island for the Little Ringed Plover (Charadrius dubius), a bird that has lost its habitat and whose population is decreasing due to the regulation of the river. After successfully completing the courses, you will be well equipped with the skills and tools to become a resting, mating, and breeding ground for this migratory bird during their seasonal stay in Novi Sad. DTAFA combines visual art, design, science, and advocacy for the future of the Danube.\nFrom 22 to 31 July visitors and casual beachgoers are invited to learn more about the pilot program and try out some of the training units while enjoying Danubian refreshments at DTAFA’s pop-up booth.\nCome by and embody the restoration of the bird’s habitat with us!\nPhoto: DTAFA, created with the kind support of the Bird Collection, Natural History Museum Vienna\n
