SUMMARY:Traces of Time
DESCRIPTION:The clay moulding workshop will take part during the opening ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/events/opening-kaleidoscope-of-culture/ ) of the Kaleidoscope of Culture ( https://kaleidoskopkulture.com/en/kaleidoscope-calendar/ ) programme in the Menza (plateau in front of the facility)  on 1 September, while the terracotta relief made during it will be set to slowly dry from 2 to 4 September.\nThe ‘Traces of Time’ project represents an artistic workshop where all visitors will be able to learn and participate in the creation of a unique relief made of clay (terracotta). For this project, through interactive work with soft clay, participants will have the opportunity to leave their mark (in the form of a foot, hand, finger, or object) and thus become an integral part in the process of creation of a work of art.\nThe entire process will be captured with photographs, which will be exhibited from 26 to 29 September in the Barka Cultural Station together with the relief.\nTalks about clay (terracotta) will be held on 26 September, and the following topics will be covered:\n1. Clay as a material and its possibilities\n2. Terracotta on the contemporary art scene\n3. The importance of clay in education (from early childhood to student days – through institutions, museological practice, academic studies, doctoral studies, etc.)\n4. Experiences in working with clay\nModerator:\nVerica Nemet, art historian and curator of Terra Museum\nParticipants:\nIgor Smiljanić, PhD, senior associate at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad\nVerica Nemet, art historian and curator of Terra Museum\nSanja Radusin Smiljanić, MA in sculpture\nMirjana Blagojev, PhD, associate professor at the Department of Sculpture at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, as well as head of the Specialist Studies in Terracotta Sculpture\nRanko Dragić, assistant professor at the Department of Sculpture at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad\nSlađana Velendečić, curator – pedagogue at the Museum of Vojvodina\nThe project is part of the ‘Artists. Now!’ national call for artists, launched by the ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation within the Kaleidoscope of Culture.\nFrom the very beginning, the implementation of the ‘Artists. Now!’ call has been supported by IDEA, which is part of the Mercator-S company.\nPhoto: Promo\n
