SUMMARY:Collab Commons / Biennale of Stage Design
DESCRIPTION:The ‘Collab Commons’ work will be presented in the District, Gvožđara building, facility 1, from 1 to 6 September, while the performance will be implemented on 7 and 8 September at 7 p.m.\nThe result of the joint work of the students of the Department of Art and Design of the Faculty of Technical Sciences from Novi Sad, the Academy of Applied Arts from Rijeka and the Faculty of Things that Can’t Be Learned from Skopje will be presented in the form of a performative event. The results of research on the topic of modernist heritage and its reading today will be presented through a joint statement. Teams of students researched selected buildings of modernist heritage architecture in their cities: HKD – Croatian Cultural Centre (former People’s House on Sušak) in Rijeka, the abandoned Municipal Community in Skopje and the building of the ‘Dnevnik’ Printing House in Novi Sad. These objects are recognized as a modernist heritage that preserves the spirit of the common, collective experience of the Yugoslav idea. All three objects were created in a period when the ideology of society was reflected in a certain system of values, with a focus on protection and attitude towards the public good and public spaces. Although they still exist in physical form, the utilitarian function of all three objects lives on in different ways in different cities or is absent at all.\nAuthors of the Collab Commons programme line are: Lara Badurina, Filip Jovanovski and Aleksandra Pešterac.\nProject assistant: Luna Šalamon\nParticipants in the workshop are: students of the Art and Design Department of the Faculty of Technical Sciences from Novi Sad, the Academy of Applied Arts from Rijeka and the Faculty of Things that Can’t Be Learned from Skopje\n
