DESCRIPTION:Nataša Kramberger from Slovenia will participate in the Literature Night at SPENS, Display window 2 (entrance from the Šećer & Soul café side) on 17 September from 5 to 8 p.m., within the Literature Week of the Kaleidoscope of Culture ( https://kaleidoskopkulture.com/en/kaleidoscope-calendar-literature/ ).\nNataša Kramberger was born in Maribor, Slovenia in 1983. She spent her childhood in Jurovski Dol, a small village in north-eastern Slovenia, on her grandmother’s farm. She later moved to Ljubljana, and continued her way to Utrecht, Milan and Berlin.\nShe won the prize at the Urška Slovenian Literary Festival for Young Authors in 2006.\nShe won the international short story competition, ‘A Sea of Words’, which is sponsored by the Anna Lindh Foundation.\nHer book ‘Heaven in a Blackberry Bush’ was her first novel. It was nominated for the Kresnik Award as Slovenia’s best novel of 2008. In 2010, it also won the 2010 European Union Prize for Literature. The novel was written on a constant journey between the Slovene Hills, Maribor, Milan, Berlin and the sea. The sea that stretches from Piran to Trieste and across the sea, Europe, the world, and across languages and dialects. It was written on a journey through a space where not only one language is spoken, but the place itself still speaks – one language.\nNataša Kramberger is a writer and journalist. She is writing articles, essays and columns for daily newspapers in Slovenia and Italy, writes literary texts for magazines and radio, and works on screenplays for documentary movies. In 2009, she founded the eco-art collective Green Central, where she promotes ecology and art.\nPhoto: Promo\n
