DESCRIPTION:The non-classical classical music festival NEO will take place from June 26 to July 5 at various locations throughout the city.\nSerbian Athens becomes the center of the classical music universe with a spectacular concert by the Danube Symphony Orchestra. For this special occasion, the orchestra includes talented musicians from Serbia, Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary, under the baton of the renowned conductor Maxim Rysanov. They will perform Gustav Holst’s famous work „The Planets,“ through which the composer attempts to depict the possible sounds of the universe. This gift to our fellow citizens comes packaged in a visual-musical-cosmic performance that will be talked about.\nNEO offers a wealth of musical „flavors“ from various genres, ranging from classical to jazz, ethno, and rock. The festival will feature works by Bach, Mozart, Bruch, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, as well as pieces by anonymous authors from our nation, whose tradition we respect and cherish. It is precisely here, in our tradition, that the starting point of the NEO festival 2024 lies: the magic of the voices of the Teofilović brothers, voices „from another planet,“ accompanied by the unusual instrumentation of their guests, will open NEO on June 26. We are proud that this concert will also mark a great jubilee – three decades of artistic work.\nFollowing this are concerts by ensembles where some of the young hopes of the global artistic scene and those who are already part of the world music elite will showcase their top-notch abilities. Violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky and cellist Irena Josifoska will join Camerata Novi Sad, top Japanese artists from the EU-Japan Fest will perform with their renowned colleagues from Serbia. Also, well-known cellist István Varga, the founder and establisher of Camerata, will perform, along with young rockers with their special guests.
