SUMMARY:Damir Karakaš / Migration of Souls — Novi Sad through Literature
DESCRIPTION:Damir Karakaš is coming to the contemporary pavilion of literature ‘Migration of Souls – Novi Sad through Literature’ in the Master Hall of the Novi Sad Fair on 7 March at 6 p.m. Ivan Bevc will host the programme. After the official programme, the author will sign his books at the Zenit publishing house booth. \nDamir Karakaš was born in 1967 in the village of Plašćica, near Brinje in Lika. After studying agronomy, law and journalism in Zagreb, he lived for some time in France where he was a street musician, engaged in performance and exhibited conceptual works, which he described in the novel Kako sam ušao u Europu (2004). He published a book of travelogues Bosanci su dobri ljudi, collections of stories Eskimi, Pukovnik Beethoven and Kino Lika, after which the film of the same name was made; dramas Skoro nikada ne zaključavamo, Snajperand Avijatičari, and novels Kombetari, Kako sam ušao u Europu, Sjajno mjesto za nesreću, Blue Moon, Sjećanje šume (for which he received the ‘Fritc’ and ‘Kočićevo pero’ awards) and Proslava (for which he received the Tportal Award for the best novel of the year), Okretište. His works have been translated into a dozen languages.\nThe exhibition Migration of Souls – Novi Sad through Literature’  celebrates the book as a civilizational and cultural object through strong visual narratives and interventions. During the exhibition ‘Migration of Souls — Novi Sad through Literature’ in the Master Hall of the Novi Sad Fair, we will host contemporary regional writers such as Rumena Bužarovska, Milica Vučković ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/wp-admin/post.php?post=5340&action=edit ), Miljenko Jergović ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/wp-admin/post.php?post=5366&action=edit ), Kristian Novak and Darko Cvijetić.\nPartner of the Migration of Souls programme is the Novi Sad Fair ( https://sajam.net/sr/ ), and the companies Globos osiguranje ( https://www.globos.rs/sr/pocetna ) and Dijamant DOO ( https://www.dijamant.rs/ ) also provide support.\n
