SUMMARY:Gastro Migrations – Shortparis / Postponed
DESCRIPTION:The concert by the group Shortparis from Russia, which was scheduled for 20 March in SCC Fabrika, within the Gastro Migrations project has been postponed. Unfortunately, the members of the band were prevented from coming due to personal reasons, but they still want to perform in Novi Sad, within the European Capital of Culture programme, about which the public will be informed in a timely manner. \n\nShortparis are on the right track to deserved international acclaim and have already been announced as ‘the best Russian live act’. Hailing from St. Petersburg and led by charismatic frontman Nikolai Komyagin from St. Petersburg, the band continues to build a reputation for its astounding ritualistic performances and dark, electronic sound, as ‘irrational, spastic dance grooves’ connect with ‘post-punk, experimental noise and acoustic chanson’ to form a unique musical aesthetics.\nPerforming in Russian, French and English, Shortparis are nothing but a discovery since they aim to provide a fitting soundtrack to their everyday lives, a sound that mirrors St. Petersburg as it was and is.\n‘You know, I constantly dream of coming across bands like Shortparis yet so rarely do,’ writes John Doran of The Quietus.\n‘Ambitious, bombastic, incredibly pretentious, erotic, thrilling, impossible to pin down, vaguely deviant, fun to dance to and full of revolutionary potential. Sure, if you listen carefully enough, you can hear them laughing, but you would be a fool to make the mistake of presuming that they’re joking.’\n\nThe Gastro Migrations project is part of the Migrations ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/migrations/ ) programme arch within which we can expect a gastronomic journey.\nFrom 17 until 20 March, we’ll visit different European regions in the hopes that food will provide an occasion to consider otherness and difference. Visit our cultural stations ( https://kulturnestanice.rs/en/ ) and feel the taste of the international spirit of togetherness.\nThe project includes four days of culinary and musical programmes at the cultural stations of Novi Sad and Zone 021. Each day is dedicated to a programme unit from Europe’s northern, western, southern and eastern regions, both international and regional in character.\nPublic culinary demonstrations are planned daily, in which guests will have the opportunity to enjoy international specialties prepared by culinary stars from across Europe.\nIn the evenings a programme featuring world music performances will highlight the musical traditions of eastern, western, northern and southern Europe.\nYou can see the programme on the Gastro Migrations link.
