DESCRIPTION:We will have the opportunity to hear Dejan Tiago Stanković who will tell us about his novel Estoril, within the Migration of Souls ( https://kalendar.novisad2022.rs/en/mec-category/migration-of-souls/ ) programme unit, in the Master Hall of the Novi Sad Fair, on 4 March at 7 p.m. After the official programme, the author will sign his books at the Laguna publishing house booth.\nDejan Tiago Stanković was born in Belgrade in 1965, where he lived while studying, and where he graduated in architecture. He lived in London until 1995, after which he moved to Portugal. He lives in Lisbon now.\nHe mastered the writing craft by translating literary works. Over the years, he has published translations of some of the most significant writers, both Portuguese into Serbian and Serbian into Portuguese, including José Saramago, Ivo Andrić and Dragoslav Mihailović. After that, he started writing in both Serbian and Portuguese. He only started publishing his own works in his forties. He published a book of short stories Odakle sam bila, više nisam (Where I Was From, I No Longer Am) and the novel Estoril, which has been translated into major world languages. ​​It was awarded in Serbia and Great Britain, and in Portugal, it became required reading in schools.\nZamalek, his second novel, is the result of his multi-month stays in Cairo over four years, his experiences there and the stories he heard.\nPhoto: Dušan Todorović\n
