Xanadu / Flags of the Future
The concert of hip-hop star Xanadu will be held on 30 April in the Creative District, оn Stage 2, as part of the three-day event Flags of the Future.
Xanadu is Uros Maksimović, a singer-songwriter from Belgrade, a graduate graphic designer with an interest in music and audio-video production. He is the founder of the YouTube channel Matični brod, on which, he has been independently publishing his music since 2018 under various pseudonyms. He was a member of the funk/soul duo ‘Srcolomci’, and in 2019 he started his solo music career as Xanadu. Currently, his most notable songs are ‘Kopenhagen’, ‘Bilo bi nam fino (da sam latino)’, and ‘Džemp’.
The genre fluctuates from hip-hop to electro-funk, and the themes of his songs are often love and social issues with an ever-present dose of humour. It is typical of him to cover all phases of the creative process – from writing lyrics, composing, mixing, and mastering songs, all the way to conceiving, directing, and editing his videos.
