Evrovizion. Crossing Stories and Spaces
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina, in partnership with ifa/Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen from Stuttgart (Germany) and the Goethe-Institut in Serbia, will present the ‘Evrovizion. Crossing Stories And Spaces’ exhibition, which is part of the ‘Doček’ programme arch.
This art project, through different perspectives, critically re-examines the current socio-political situation in Europe regarding the problems of racism, nationalism, wars, borders, environmental destruction, and neoliberal capitalism. The focus of the project is the region of Southeast/Eastern Europe, which plays an important role in the selection of both artists and collaborators in the project – the presentation sites of the exhibition are an integral part of the concept of the whole project.
On the edges of the continent, where Europe is becoming Europe, it is sometimes possible to see more clearly. That is why the title itself is a fusion of different language forms, a free version of a potential intercultural community, through a vision of a different Europe. In addition to involving local artists and communities, the project is relevant because visitors will be introduced to artists from the international art scene, and Novi Sad will be on the map along with Brussels, Berlin, Krakow, Athens, Kaliningrad, Varna, Tbilisi, etc. due to the traveling concept of the exhibition.
During the exhibition, from 26 November 2021 to 27 February 2022, several accompanying programmes will be held in Novi Sad, while in February 2022, in the ‘Exchange Office’ gallery of the Goethe-Institut in Belgrade, an exhibition by Henrike Naumann will be implemented.
