Bio Co-Culture and Panel Discussion / Biofabrika
During the all-day programme at the Svilara Cultural Station, on 1 August, a workshop on the ‘Bio Co-Culture’ project is being organised with a demonstration and open conversation, a pop-up exhibition, and a panel discussion.
The activities will be held in two time periods, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and from 7 to 9 p.m.
A workshop and open conversation with the presentation of a pop-up exhibition will be held to formally show the process of creating SCOBY materials, research throughout the process, and present research results through prototypes created during the project, in cooperation with the High School of Graphic Design ‘Bogdan Šuput’.
The panel discussion covers the topic of environmental sustainability and the interpretation of the SCOBY material itself, which includes not only aesthetic and technological ideas but also biological/theoretical questioning.
There will also be a conversation on the topic of transdisciplinarity, the development of artificial intelligence and its use in the natural sciences and in design with a focus on contemporary production such as bio-eco-sustainable art, i.e.
The final topic of the panel will be a review of the contemporary art market in Europe (and beyond) and consideration on whether there is a future and a market for such kind of art.
