Rosella Postorino / Literature Night

Rosella Postorino from Italy will participate in the Literature Night at SPENS on 17 September from 5 to 8 p.m., within the literature week of the Kaleidoscope of Culture.

Rosella Postorino lives and works in Rome. Her book ‘Le assaggiatrici’ has been translated into 33 languages and will soon be made into a movie directed by Cristina Comencini. She published the novels ‘La stanza di sopra’, ‘L’estate che perdemmo Dio’ and ‘Il corpo docile’, the reportage ‘Il mare in salita’, the play ‘Tu (non) sei il tuo lavoro’, and the books ‘Tutti giu per aria’, and ‘Io, mio padre e le formiche’. She has also translated and edited works by Marguerite Duras, ‘Moderato cantabile’ (2013) and ‘Testi segreti’ (2015). She has been working with popular Italian print media.

‘Fra le pareti bianche della mensa, quel giorno diventai un’assaggiatrice di Hitler. Era l’autunno del ’43, avevo ventisei anni, cinquanta ore di viaggio, settecento chilometri addosso. Da Berlino ero venuta nella Prussia orientale, il luogo dov’era nato Gregor. E Gregor non c’era. Per sfuggire alla guerra, da una settimana mi ero trasferita a Gross-Partsch.’
