Sculpture Reveal – ‘Two-Headed Idol’ / A Neolithic Night’s Dream
Next to the Museum of Vojvodina (at the corner of 35 Dunavska Street and Žarka Vasiljevića), on 11 October at 7 p.m., the sculpture ‘Two-Headed Idol’, exhibited at the Pavilion of the Republic of Serbia at Dubai EXPO in 2020, will be revealed.
The sculpture, made by the Novi Sad sculptor Aleksandar Bunčić, is inspired by the Neolithic two-headed figurine, which is kept at the Museum of Vojvodina.
The two-headed figurine is part of the permanent exhibition of the Museum, currently exhibited at ‘A Neolithic Night’s Dream’ exhibition. The unique museum object was found on Gomolava in the village of Hrtkovci during the systematic-protective excavation in 1965. It is made of ceramics, with two heads, one torso and two arms on the hips and is unique in its appearance.
