Exhibition: Nasleđe Zaboravljenih, Milan Ćirlić
The exhibition Nasleđe Zaboravljenih, Milan Ćirlić, will be opened in the Barka Cultural Station on Thursday, 25 April, at 7 p.m.
Those interested will be able to see the exhibition until May 10 on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
After last year’s successful collaboration with collectors Zoran Veljanović and Dejan Kragić at the exhibition ‘Military Caps And Helmets From The Mid-19th Century to the Present Day’, the City Administration for Culture continues the promotion of collecting in order to preserve the artistic and spiritual values of Novi Sad and the country.
The exhibition ‘Nasleđe Zaboravljenih, Milan Ćirlić’ effects the mission of the collectors, Jovan Mandić and Ilija Grujić, PhD, to highlight and revive the works of artists who, although they have earned recognition for their work, are not sufficiently explored or represented in professional circles. Their role as collectors is to recognize, collect and preserve these valuable works, in order to present them to a wider audience and remind them of their importance.
The exhibition is only the first in a series, and with the support of the City through the Network of cultural stations, they hope to highlight more important but forgotten Novi Sad painters. For subsequent projects and exhibitions, the name will remain ‘Nasleđe ZaboravljenIh’ (En. Legacy of the Forgotten), and only the name of the painter who will be presented will be added, which could represent an interesting project of discovering the forgotten Novi Sad painters.
