Installation ‘Halopartizanke’ | Kaleidoscope of Culture 2024
The dance installation ’Halopartizanke’ is scheduled for 4 and 5 October at 7 p.m. at the Radionica facility (object 2) in the District, as part of the Visual Arts Week of the Kaleidoscope of Culture.
The project ‘Halopartizanke’ is a choreographic installation featuring four human and four holographic dancers, spread across two floors. The lower floor, which serves as the central part of the installation, uses outdated 20th-century technology, projecting holograms via televisions, while the upper floor, symbolizing the future, displays holograms through mobile devices. During the opening, there will also be a live performance, where you can see documentary material about the brave female warriors who participated in the liberation of Yugoslavia from Nazism.
The installation explores how a generation burdened with history understands the time of the People’s Liberation War, in which it never lived. Is it a myth or reality? What would we die for? How will we be remembered? Through a combination of live and holographic performers, we pose the question: Is a person more or less than their projection, or are they equally valuable? The outdated technology from the 20th century, used in the lower part of the installation, is revived in an innovative way, while the upper part of the installation symbolizes the future, using technologies like smartphones, which are already a part of our lives.
Admission is free.
