Vladimir and Kosara
The opera ‘Vladimir and Kosara’ will be performed for the first time, within the Migrations programme arch, on the main stage ‘Jovan Đorđević’ during the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Serbian National Theatre on 28 March 2022, at 8:22 p.m.
Maestro Stevan Divjaković wrote the original opera ‘Vladimir and Kosara’ for the Serbian National Theatre, inspired by this story of happy love. Love is a great European theme that leads us from antiquity through the Middle Ages to modern times. Part of the great myth of love is the life story of Jovan Vladimir, a medieval ruler and the first Serbian saint, who has inspired many artists for centuries: writers, playwrights, and poets.
Musicians from the region and the member states of the European Union are participating in the project, together with the SNT’s Opera Orchestra.
