Beta Circus

A contemporary circus, BETA Circus, will make a unique performance at the Laza Kostić Grammar School, on 12 March at 8 p.m.

Beta Circus (B.E.T.A. CIRCUS / Boosting European Trends and Artists in Circus Arts) is a ‘Creative Europe’ project in which four companies specializing in contemporary circus are collaborating, working on new trends. The works are presented in Italy, Portugal, Latvia, and Serbia. In Serbia, the artists will be hosted by ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’, which will present the project within the Migrations programme arch in Laza Kostić Grammar School on 12 March. 

The partnership is aimed at countries that do not have an academic level of circus education, as well as countries that have recently recognized the circus as a new branch of art, with young generations of professionals to be formed. The audience will have a chance to enjoy the popular trends of illusionism and new magic. In addition to performances, four workshops that will bring together experienced European and interested local circus artists, which will increase the capacity of the local scene, are planned.

Prestigious European circus organisations are taking part in the project: Associazione Culturale Teatro Necessario (Italy), VSIA ‘Rigas Cirks’ (Latvia), Bússola (Portugal) and Ludifiko (Serbia).
