A Trip Around the World by Bicycle: Graphics by Ljubomir Kokotović

The Exhibition ‘A Trip Around the World by Bicycle: Graphics by Ljubomir Kokotović’ which is implemented within the ‘There and Back Again’ project and the Migrations programme arch will be officially opened at the American Corner in Novi Sad on 25 February at 7 p.m. The exhibition will last until 20 March, and all those interested will be able to see it on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

During the exhibition, two tours by the author will be organized through it on 1 and 3 March. Both guided tours start at 2 p.m., while on 10 March, a panel discussion on the topic ‘Graphics in the collections of museums and galleries in Serbia’ will be realized.

Ljubomir Kokotović is a Serbian graphic artist who travelled all over the world and was very successful in exhibiting his work in the 1960s, with notable artists like Picasso and Chagall, but due to circumstances of life, he returned to his native village where he continued to live and teach at a local school, completely neglecting his own artwork.

The artistic concept of ‘There and Back Again’ speaks of travel as the key to individual development, but also the return as the crown jewel of that development. In this way, we actualize the journey as a source of inspiration, as a moment of re-examination and a symbol of learning and personal progress.
