Antonie, a percussionist, drummer, multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer from Skopje, will hold a concert on July 27 in the Pavilion on Strand, as part of the Danube Sea programme arch.
The “AVP project” is Antonie’s latest solo project with which he best presents his unique artistic side. This project as a concept is a series of studio albums of different genres and styles. The first three volumes will be released during 2021-2022,with the first volume coming at the end of this year. The 1st Volume is ambient, electronic and jazz music hosted and played by Antonie on all instruments on this album and also couple of domestic artists as guests on the volume. The 2nd Volume brings more of big band, fusion and world music sound and will be played live in a studio setting with more than fifteen musicians guest-starring this album, coming on video as well as audio in early 2022. The 3rd Volume is planned to go out at the end of 2022 and will be slightly different than the first two albums meaning that the guests on this album are only female vocals and the genre is neo-soul and pop.The goal of the “AVP project” is to bring different artists and musicians and fuse different musical genres in a series of studio and live albums. The 1st volume in its core is alive performance-one man show expressing the magical uniqueness of the Marimba and the Vibraphone mixed with other instruments such as Piano, Bass and Percussion where Antonie fully brings his musical skills and emotions to his music. The mix of the electronic and ambient music with jazz approach generates this exceptional style that Antonie is creating with his music. He wants to brake the barriers of sticking to one genre of music by experimenting and creating new sound in each album and include other artists to have an impact in his music by collaborating and sharing new and interesting ideas.
Beside his music career as a solo artist, composer and songwriter he is a percussionist of the ZJM Big Band, Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, FAMES Project Orchestra and the contemporary music ensemble ConTempora. As a drummer he recorded four studio albums with the alternative rock band Fighting Windmills and has been a guest on many other albums and singles. He played with artists like: Femi Kuti, Juan Atkins, Vlatko Stefanovski, Renaud Garcia-Fons, Arhangel, Dzijan Emin and others. Right now he is working with couple of artists on producing and composing new music and also he is working on music for film.
