Concert by Miloš Vuković / Vojvodina Classical Guitar Fest

Miloš Vuković will hold a concert within the Vojvodina Classical Guitar Fest in the Egység Cultural Station on 10 February at 7 p.m.

Miloš Vuković was born in Smedervska Palanka, and he graduated from the Faculty of Art in Niš, mentored by professor Vesna Petkovića, MA. During his studies, he has been mastering his skills in the classes of eminent local and foreign guitarists such as Nikita Koshkin (Russia), Eduardo Fernandez (Uruguay), Joaquín Clerch (Cuba), Anabel Montesinos (Spain), Alexander Swete (Austria), and many others. His repertoire includes numerous works, from the renaissance to music written in the 20th century.

During the concert in the Egység Cultural Station, the audience will have a chance to hear compositions by Leo Brouwer, Johann Kaspar Mertz, Damjan Jovičin, and others.

The development of the guitar in Novi Sad during the 20th century was overshadowed by its flourishing in other cities of Yugoslavia, especially Zagreb, Sarajevo and later, Belgrade. Guitarists such as Spiro Mytiakis and Jovan Kolarski lived and worked in Novi Sad. Thanks to them, the guitar was present at concert stages, within the Cultural and Artistic Society ‘Svetozar Marković’.

It wasn’t until 1979 that the ‘Isidor Bajić’ Music School began offering guitar lessons, with Ana Margaret-Vučak as a first pedagogue, who gradually managed to build foundations for further development of this art with her pioneering work.

Today, Novi Sad is the centre of guitar art where new generations of guitarists, who achieve very notable success both in the field of pedagogy and as performers, have been formed.

Due to the pandemic situation, the number of visitors is limited.
