Graphic Cooperative – New Bridges / ReCAPITULATION
‘Graphic Cooperative – New Bridges’ is a graphic performance that will be held on 10 July in the Quay of the Victims of the Raid Amphitheatre, and it represents a new collective called the Graphic Cooperative. The performance, as part of the Fortress of Peace programme arch, is designed to present the principles of graphic printing within the public space through the work of young graphic artists, founders of the graphic cooperative. The performance is based on the printing of graphics that take the demolished, non-existent and new bridges of Novi Sad as their theme.
In addition to the final performative act of forming graphic prints, this performance tries to present the process of process thinking and acting.
Bridges as the primary motif of the work overlap with the river they bridge, while the artwork itself is created in a one-year process in which graphic matrices are created by artists in collaboration with the river itself – the natural element of water, the basic building block of life. The immersion of matrices, their analysis and upgrading are an attempt to form an attitude about the need for long-term thinking about social, political and environmental problems, as well as an attempt to open opportunities for a collective act of reconsideration and shape possible futures.
As part of the ‘reCAPITULATION’ project, in addition to the exhibition with the same name, which will be set up from July 3 to August 2 at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina and the Šok zadruga (Shock Cooperative) gallery space, a performance ‘BioBridge – At Audience’s Behest’ will be held on Varadin Bridge (Rainbow Bridge), July 9 from 6 to 10 p.m.
