Darkest Wave | Kaleidoscope of Culture 2024.

The “Darkest Wave” exhibition, which was opened on October 5 in the District, as part of the visual arts week at the Kaleidoscope of Culture, can be viewed until October 19 in the Workshop, Menza and Biro facilities. Through innovative presentations, this exhibition sheds light on the key themes and aesthetics of the “black wave” and the works of the most important directors of this period, including Dušan Makavejev, Želimir Žilnik, Aleksandar Petrović, Karpo Ačimović Godina, Živojin Pavlović, Lazar Stojanović.

The exhibition combines artistic interpretation and archival documents, creating a context for understanding this controversial period of Yugoslav cinema from the 1970s. The aim is to provide the audience with a new perspective on this cultural phenomenon through the art of appropriation and post-production.

Author of the exhibition is dr Monika Ponjavić Bilbija.

Work hours: From Wednesday to Sunday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
