Exhibition “The World of Pavel Surový: Mira Brtka” | Kaleidoscope of Culture 2024
As part of the Applied Arts Week of the Kaleidoscope of Culture, from September 6th to 11th at the SKCNS Fabrika venue in the District, we will have the opportunity to experience a new media exhibition and performance featuring large-format photographs. These will showcase and reinterpret models dressed in the legendary fashion designer Mira Brtka’s dresses through the lens of Pavel Surový. The working hours of the exhibition are every day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The collaboration between these two renowned multimedia artists and passionate collectors will present a multimedia ethno spectacle. The public will be introduced to large-format photographs, live models with scenography, video projections, and a fashion show. Pavel Surový’s project focuses on Brtka’s fashion creations, particularly her renowned dresses, which he interprets from his aesthetic and philosophical perspective. He also aims to explain the creation and tailoring process of these exclusive dresses to the audience.
The entire project is his vision and imagination. He takes on roles as a creative director, fashion photographer, stylist, lighting master, and scenographer. Mira Brtka’s dresses serve as inspiration for creating magical worlds. He styles the models, selects accessories, designs makeup, and creates scenography for different worlds, blending the unimaginable and adding all the elements that help explain his magical world and the philosophy behind Mira Brtka’s dresses. His medium is fashion art photography, creative scenography with live models, through which he visualizes his magical world of fairies, goddesses, queens, warriors, and women, giving each of Mira Brtka’s dresses a philosophy, story, context, and soul.
Pavel Surový is an award-winning fashion photographer and graphic designer from Kišac, with notable success in international photographic and graphic design competitions.
