‘Following the Thread’ exhibition

Following the Thread’ exhibition, which is realized within the Migrations programme arch, will be opened at the gallery of the cultural and educational institution Cultural Centre ‘Mladost’, Futog, on 10 February at 7 p.m., and will last until 10 March.

The idea behind the ‘Following the Thread’ project, which will be realized within the Migrations programme arch, stems from the previous experience in organizing the ‘Pearled Branch Festival of Traditional Dress, Jewellery and Headdresses’. By drawing focus on the conservation of traditional costumes, the team from the Futog Youth Cultural Centre ‘Mladost’ will attempt to convey the significance of folk heritage’s diversity in order to create new forms of culture and a positive environment of working in the field of preservation of cultural heritage and intercultural sensitivity.

In addition to an exhibition of photographs of national costumes, the programmes include a seminar for both professionals and the general public, an alphabet of costumes – a workshop for the youngest participants, a music-and-stage programme, a fashion show of folk costumes, and a concert of various national vocal groups, soloists and instruments.

The seminar ‘Folk Costumes as a Mirror of Identity – Similarity and Differences’ (Nošnja kao ogledalo identiteta – slično i različito) will be held in the Historical Archives of the City of Novi Sad, on 5 February, at 10 a.m.

Everyone interested can watch the fashion show of folk costumes also in the Historical Archives of the City of Novi Sad, on 5 and 6 February, at 7 p.m.
