Gala Rossini Concert
The Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra will hold a Gala Rossini Concert on Saturday, December 28, starting at 20:00, at the Great Stage “Jovan Đorđević” of the Serbian National Theatre. The evening’s soloist will be baritone Michael Spyers, accompanied by guest soprano Tara Stafford-Spyers, under the baton of Maestro Gabriel Bebeshelja.
The program will feature pieces from the operatic works of the bel canto master Gioachino Rossini, including: The Barber of Seville, William Tell, Otello, Elizabeth, Queen of England, and The Thieving Magpie.

Michael Spyers was born in Ozark into a family of musicians. He quickly became one of the most promising tenors of his generation, with 10 recorded digital video discs, 30 compact disc releases, and an impressive repertoire of 83 roles in 78 different operas. He has performed in the most prestigious opera houses, festivals, and concert halls around the world, and is particularly known for his diverse programming, ranging from baroque music to 20th-century works, with particular expertise in bel canto and French grand opera.
Gabriel Bebeshelja is a versatile maestro with a vibrant international career, frequently invited as a guest conductor by renowned world ensembles, and now well-known to the audience in Novi Sad, who will mark the anniversary of his successful collaboration with the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra with this concert.
