Guided Tour of the Exhibition with Sign Language Translation / Uroš Predić for Everyone
A guided tour of the exhibition ‘A Life Dedicated to Beauty and Art’ with translation into Serbian sign language will be organised at 5 p.m. at the Gallery of Matica Srpska on the following dates: 15 and 29 October, 12 and 26 November, 10 and 30 December 2022, as well as 13 and 28 January 2023.
In cooperation with the Association of Interpreters and Translators for Sign Language, three lectures and guided tours by the curators will be held at the Gallery of Matica Srpska through the exhibition of Uroš Predić ‘A Life Dedicated to Beauty and Art’ with simultaneous translation into Serbian sign language. In this way, the life and work of Uroš Predić, one of the most important national artists, will be brought closer to the community of deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors. With the idea of making artistic creativity accessible to all visitors, by simultaneous interpretation into sign language, we want to point out the importance of creating a society of successful, free and selfless people in which deaf and hard of hearing people exercise their right to use sign language.
3D models of selected paintings by Uroš Predić and audio guides for the blind and visually impaired will be available every day.
In accordance with the institutional commitment developed over the past quarter of a century that we are a museum open to all, through the project ‘Uroš Predić for Everyone’ the exhibition is adapted for people with visual impairments. Blind and visually impaired visitors will have the opportunity to experience five masterpieces by Uroš Predić using tactile models of the images and audio descriptions that accompany them – Sulking Girl, Girl at the Fountain, Kosovo Maiden, Happy Brothers and Self-Portrait. Thanks to the exhibition catalogue in Braille and its audio recording, people with visual impairments will complete their knowledge of the life and work of Uroš Predić.
