Guitar Fest of Vojvodina 2022

Guitar Fest of Vojvodina 2022 will be held at the FC Tatra Kisač Stadium on 3 September, as part of the Kaleidoscope of Culture programme arch.
The project is conceptually unique and historically based and promotes a musical direction that is the backbone of the local and foreign music scene, i.e. original rock ‘n’ roll.

Some of the bands that the audience will have the opportunity to listen to are:

Kerber was formed in 1981 by the members of the Top band, which at the time had a solid local career, but which by then was not stable, as the members often temporarily played for the more popular bands of the time. The band got its name from a creature of Greek mythology, a three-headed dog with a snake’s tail that guards the entrance to the underworld. The band entered the Yugoslav rock scene in 1983 by winning the famous Youth Festival in Subotica, where bands such as Idoli, Film and others had established themselves. The band held its first concerts in clubs in Niš, and was often the opening act for Galija. They recorded their first album, ‘Nebo je malo za sve’, in the middle of 1982. Their concerts at that time were characterized by Sosa, who played the guitar in the shape of an ax, and he swallowed and spewed fire on stage. At the concert in Novi Sad, he suffered second-degree burns, but still finished the concert. He performed several subsequent concerts with bandages and a mask, so he stopped performing these attractions. Kerber also took part in the YU Rock Mission concert, held at the Crvena Zvezda Stadium in Belgrade. In the early eighties, they played as a support group at the Nightwing and Uriah Heep concerts in Yugoslavia. They performed most intensively during 1987, when they held more than 200 concerts in the country. They were especially popular in Serbia, Bosnia and Macedonia. During their career, they also performed in clubs in Greece and Great Britain. They took a two-year break after the album released in 1989. After their return, they released two more albums, but then another, much longer break followed. On the occasion of their 30th anniversary, the band made a mini-tour and celebrated its birthday in Novi Sad, Niš and Belgrade. In early 2014, Kerber began work on a new album.

The Monah band was founded at the end of 2020 in Niš. They experiment with genres and look for a different and fresher sound that they will provide to the listeners. They find their inspiration in the foreign rock scene, from Pink Floyd to Porcupine Tree. They decided that their lyrics should be in the Serbian language in order to enrich the local rock scene, which has been lacking in Serbia in recent years. They released two singles from their first debut album, ‘Kraj’ and ‘Iza ogledala’. In 2021, they played at various festivals and had a mini-tour in Serbia, in order to promote the first album, which will see the light of day at the end of the summer of the current year.

The Lipov Loud band was founded in 2018 in the nuclear shelter of a building in the Belgrade local community of Lipov lad. Since then, the quartet consisting of: Bane Glumac on solo guitar, Đorđe Đolović on rhythm guitar, Rade Šević on bass and vocal and Goran Kostić on drums has performed with original material all over Serbia, at numerous festivals, joint and solo performances. Their music is characterized by the sound of garage rock, the smell of asphalt and strong, emotional lyrics. They performed at the Guitar Fest of Vojvodina in 2020, when they won third place, and since then they have been working on their first EP called ‘Ne pristajem’.
