Opening of the Kaleidoskope of Culture at Korzo

This year, the Kaleidoscope of Culture begins with Korzo!

Under a clear sky on Mihaila Pupun Boulevard, on 7 September 2023, the residents of Novi Sad will be able to enjoy the performance of the Guinness record holder and one of the most popular pianists in the world, Peter Bence, and the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Srboljub Dinić. Korzo is directed by Aleksandar Nikolić, while Dejan Stojkov is responsible for the video design. After Korzo, the opening of the Kaleidoskop of Culture continues in the renewed District from 8 to 10 September.

Korzo, as a gala opening ceremony, will once again move classical music from concert halls, thus bringing this type of art closer to all fellow citizens.

Peter Bence is a world piano sensation, composer and music producer who holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest piano player. He conquered the world with his piano arrangements, amassing over 1.2 billion video hits and a huge number of views on YouTube and Facebook in the past 5 years. Not only does he revolutionize the way the piano is played, but he also influences new generations of pianists and musicians to come. He achieved sensational success with his atypical and expressive playing style, breaking down the boundaries between classical and popular music and turning the piano into a complete orchestra. Bence inspires both younger and older generations of musicians and music lovers from all over the world.

The Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra is a respectable ensemble of high interpretive level on the local art scene. Including the previous decade, symphonists have so far held around 150 concerts, reaching a significant level of interpretive standards. By insisting on the diversity of the classical, sometimes genre-broader repertoire (especially when it comes to the more popular ‘gala New Year’s concerts’), the orchestra has so far presented itself best in the late romantic works of the symphonic and concert literature, captivating with its sumptuous sound, wide dynamic scale and sung cantilenas, as well as in the interpretations of compositions of the 20th century, and contemporary local creativity.

Srboljub Dinić is one of the world’s most recognized conductors of our time, who comes from a family with a long musical tradition. He studied piano and chamber music in Belgrade, and conducting in Bonn and Skopje. He started his international career in 1995. He was a guest in many opera houses throughout Europe and the world, and during his career he collaborated with world-renowned orchestras and stars of the world opera and concert scene, such as: Anna Netrebko, Diana Damrau, Agnes Baltza, Silvia dala Bennetta and numerous other artists with whom has held gala concerts and opera productions in more than 20 countries around the world. He is the winner of the award of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia for spreading and promoting Serbian culture in the world.
