Led Day / reCAPITULATION

The performance ‘Led Day’ will be held at the Katolička porta on 19 June, performed by the Led Art Multimedia Centre, as part of the Fortress of Peace programme arch.

‘Led Day’ marks the anniversary of the first performances of the Led Art group, ‘Freezing’, and ‘Flood’. It is about the repeated staging of ‘Flood’, the first Led Art performance in Novi Sad when Zmaj Jovina Street was fenced by ice blocks. With the projection on the ice wall with which we will block off a part of Katolička porta, we give an overview of the initial motivations for starting the Led Art activities. This performance is announcing the big exhibition ‘reCAPITULATION’ in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina.

With the slogan ‘Ethics before aesthetics’, Led Art focuses on negative tendencies in social dynamics and tries to resist them through the utopian idea that art can change the world through artistic actions and performances.

The performance – reperformance  ‘Led Day’ examines the past of the Led Art group, a past that was framed in the 90s and raises questions about the historical narrative and interpretation of a turbulent time.

The event is accessible to persons with physical disabilities.
