Monodrama ‘Reče mi jedan čoek, ćeraćemo se još, kad budem mlađi’ performed by Petar Božović

The monodrama ‘Reče mi čoek, ćeraćemo se još, kad budem mlađi’ (Eng. A Fella Told Me, We Will Talk Again, When I’m Younger) by author Matija Bećković, adapted and performed by Petar Božović, will take place in the Amphitheater of SPENS on 17 September at 8.30 p.m..

The monodrama lasts 70 minutes and consists of three parts:

The first part ‘A Fella Told Me’ is set in Rovca in Montenegro, where eight hundred rifles are located. An entire oral civilisation arose in Rovca, whose philosophy is language, and language is memory. Nothing else happens in Rovci, except in language. Saying something is the greatest endowment.

The second part, i.e. the poem ‘We’ll Talk Again’, is based on the confrontation between two enemy groups (’we’ and ‘they’) and represents the art of verbal variations on the topic of conflicts that have neither beginning nor end. He talks all the time about man’s need to confront others, and to spend his whole life developing strategies and tactics for that confrontation.

The poem ‘When I’m Younger’ is about the hero’s constant fantasising about what will happen when the time that cannot come – comes and when what cannot happen – happens. The situation corresponds to one of the current obsessions of a modern man.
