Moussaka / Showcase 1

Moussaka will hold a concert in the District on 1 September, in the Proizvodnja facility (previously known as The Quarter), as part of the opening of the Kaleidoscope of Culture programme arch. Turbo Trans Turisti will perform within the ‘Showcase 1’ programme at 8 p.m., the band 21 VEK at 9 p.m. and Moussaka at 10 p.m. 

Just like the dish of the same name, Moussaka is a blend of a spicy mix of classic ingredients and non-classical spices, from the original guitar school of the 1950s to the newly composed Yugoslav aesthetics of the 1980s. You will see for yourself after the first song that Dick Dale and Dragana Mirković by some miracle can walk hand in hand quite nicely and that it does not bother anyone, on the contrary.

The incredible closeness of California surf rock and the Balkan musical tradition, broken but strong rhythms and melodies, emotions and nostalgia will come together in a unique genre and unite the distant meridians, and show you that even on the Danube, Sava and Morava you can ride on a perfect wave.

Moussaka are Igor Mitić (guitar), Pjer Živič (guitar), Davor Sopić (bass), Mladen Radovanović (drums).
