On the Cliff

The theatre play ‘On the Cliff’, produced by the ‘BUDI’ association from Pančevo, will be held in the Rumenka Cultural Station on 11 September, within the performing arts week of the Kaleidoscope of Culture.

‘On the Cliff’ is a play directed by Zoran Zarubica based on the ‘norway.today’ by Swedish writer Igor Bauersima. Based on a true story, ‘norway.today’ is an existential romantic comedy about two lost souls searching for the meaning of life.  In an internet chat room, Julie announced that she is going to kill herself, and she does not want to do it alone.

The production has been supported by the project ‘Culture for Democracy’ (CfD), financed by the Government of Switzerland, and implemented by the Heartefact Fund from Belgrade.

BUDI is a non-profit association of citizens from Pančevo, founded in 2014. BUDI implements the International Biennale of Children’s Artistic Expression – a 30-day manifestation dedicated to the affirmation of children’s creativity and creativity made for children in the fields of visual arts, theatre, music, literature, education, ecology, tolerance and human rights in cooperation with the Cultural Centre of Pančevo, with the support from the Ministry of Culture and Information and a local host of the Embassy of the selected country.  BUDI organised the Park Fest in Zemun, dedicated to the European Day of Parks and urban green spaces through artistic, cultural, ecological and educational activities for all generations. BUDI organised several plays, festivals and workshops.

The project is part of the ‘Artists. Now!’ national call for artists, launched by the ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation within the Kaleidoscope of Culture.

From the very beginning, the implementation of the ‘Artists. Now!’ call has been supported by IDEA, which is part of the Mercator-S company.
