Private Celebration
The comedy Private Celebration will be performed on September 25 in the main hall of NIS, starting at 7:30 PM.
At a private celebration in an elegant restaurant, six people gather at the invitation of mutual friends, a married couple of lawyers. None of the guests know the reason for the gathering, nor who the other guests are. During this mysterious evening, it turns out that they are, in fact, former spouses, brought together by the lawyer couple who divorced them all, in an attempt to help them mend their broken relationships.
Private Celebration is a romantic comedy about middle-aged people who are financially secure and seemingly have everything, yet still are not happy. They struggle with the same emotional and fundamental life problems as “ordinary guests.” They are troubled by jealousy, hurt by infidelity and vanity, and afraid to communicate their emotions honestly for fear of being hurt, abandoned, pitied, or excluded from society. This is a story about the absurd chaos we are capable of creating in our relationships.
