Robert Lakatos String Orchestra
The Robert Lakatos String Orchestra will hold a concert in the Synagogue on Monday, 27 May, at 8 p.m.

Robert received a number of outstanding awards, including the first prize at the prestigious International Violin Competition in Pamplona (Spain) in 2015. Today he plays on renowned music stages around the world. He collaborated with the symphony orchestras of Navarre, Málaga, Madrid, Göttingen, Krakow, Monterey, Zurich, Istanbul, Ljubljana and eminent conductors such as Gabriel Feltz, Uršs Lajović, James Judd, Manuel Hernandez Silva, Fabio McKetty, Nicholas Milton, Lior Shambadal, Filip Grinberg, Aleksandar Marković and many others. In addition to a rich and successful solo career, he is dedicated to teaching violin at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. Born in Novi Sad in 1991, Robert grew up in a musical family where his father, Imre Lakatos, was his mentor. He graduated in the class of Prof. Dejan Mihailović at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, and continued his studies at the University of Arts in Zurich, under Rudolf Koelman.
Guided by many years of artistic experience acquired during a rich international career, he founded the Robert Lakatos Chamber Orchestra in 2018. The orchestra gathers his gifted students, with the aim of promoting a new generation of young virtuosos. For young artists, the opportunity to perform regularly in public is invaluable, as it helps them prepare better and more thoroughly for their future career. Thus, accompanied by the experience and education of their outstanding mentor, the young musicians who play in the ensemble have a unique opportunity to improve both professionally and personally. By working in an orchestra, or stage performances, young virtuosos gain practical experience and strengthen their stability as chamber musicians. However, through a demanding and very varied repertoire, Robert Lakatos encourages the members of the ensemble not only to develop their artistic skills, but also to find and then nurture their own unique style and expression.
