Rock Opera

The Novi Sad Big Band and the SNP choir and orchestra will hold the Rock Opera birthday musical spectacle at the Serbian National Theater on 13 June at 8 p.m.

The rock opera is an impressive symphonic rock project – a combination of rock and classical music and with the interpretation of the Novi Sad Big Band mixed choir and the SNP opera orchestra, powerful scenography, lighting and sound, brings an exclusive musical event.

This is our sixth birthday concert and after sold-out concerts in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy and Montenegro, the Novi Sad audience is given a unique opportunity to enjoy new arrangements of the biggest rock hits of their favorite, legendary rock bands such as are Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, Doors, ACDC, The Beatles, Deep Purple, Tina Turner, Van Halen, etc. and to return to the times when unsurpassed hits were created. The concert programme features 22 songs of the greatest hits of rock bands whose names are included in the encyclopedias of the world and local music scene of the 20th century. The concert reflects the spirit of the author and a famous era of rock music. With our performers, whether in the audience are older generations who still appreciate their vinyl records, or younger generations who learn about rock music on the Internet, you will feel the unsurpassed energy of symphonic rock! The unusual combination of rock and classical music has led to the fact that the musical spectacle ‘ROCK OPERA’ has been bringing together not only musical genres but also different audiences for several years. The Rock Opera concept is equally accessible for all generations, especially for those who wish to break away from imposed patterns.

The conductor and author of the musical arrangements is maestro Fedor Vrtačnik, and the vocal soloists are Bojana Stamenov, Zoran Šandorov, Mattia Zanatta, Nikola Mijić and members of the SNP Opera.
