Rogalj (Corner) / Kać
The ‘Rogalj’ project will take place within the Future of Europe programme arch, on 8 May in Kać, joined by guests from Timisoara (Romania), members of the Association of Serbs in Romania, and Deska (Hungary).
It will present the tamburitza tradition through various forms, such as traditional vocal-instrumental songs and contemporary compositions adapted for these instruments, through a display of traditional and forgotten entertaining children’s games (of sport and competitive character), traditional folk games (shown in a modern style in the form of dance), the promotion of domestic products and handicrafts, as well as the exhibition of art and literary works by school children on the Rogalj theme.
‘Rogalj’ is a maybe forgotten or a never known word, but we can learn it again.
Rogalj is a place of gathering, usually at intersections and prominent locations, where young village people meet. The young people’s usual activity on the corner was dancing, to socialise and get acquaintances.
