Sava Šumanović at the Salon of Independent Artists in Paris (1922-1929) / Sava Šumanović and European Realism Between the Two World Wars
A lecture by Gordana Krstić Faj, entitled ‘Sava Šumanović at the Salon of Independent Artists in Paris (1922-1929)’, within the ‘Sava Šumanović and European Realism Between the Two World Wars’ exhibition, will take place at the Gallery of Matica Srpska on 24 November.
In Paris, Šumanović exhibited the most at the Salon of Independent Artists, eight times in a row, presenting 15 paintings, which reflect the changes in his artistic expression. The Parisian critics left the most comments about Šumanović as a prominent actor of the ‘Paris School’ and his work on the occasion of his participation at the Salon of Independent Artists, about which art historian Gordana Krstić Faj will hold a lecture at the Gallery of Matica Srpska.
