Sterijino Pozorje Theatre Festival

This year’s Sterijino Pozorje, the 69th in a row, will be held at the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad from 26 May to 3 June.

Sterijino Pozorje, as a permanent festival of local dramatic text, with a competitive character, was established in 1956 as part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth and 100th anniversary of the death of the great Serbian comedy writer Jovan Sterija Popović. Professional theatres and ensembles from the country and abroad can participate in the festival with plays based on texts by our writers, as well as local theatres with plays based on texts by foreign writers.
