Summer Break

The workshop and the screening of the film ‘Summer Break’ will be held at Liman Cultural Station, on 15 September, as part of the Kaleidoscope of Culture.

During the break from university, production students from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek organised a youth exchange. Through socialising during the summer vacation, they organised public readings of each other’s plays in the open air, recorded a vlog and they offer recorded readings of those dramas.

Summer Break is a show, Summer Break is an event, and Summer Break is a party.

Summer Break follows students, young artists, and their free time. The project investigates what kind of works are created inspired by ‘school’ assignments and exam obligations, and what kind of works are created in free time. While exchanging experiences, the students organise a public reading of the text in the open air and offer interesting content for their fellow citizens, along with a short film that is a collage of the whole process.

The project is part of the ‘Artists. Now!’ national call for artists, launched by the ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation within the Kaleidoscope of Culture.

From the very beginning, the implementation of the ‘Artists. Now!’ call has been supported by IDEA, which is part of the Mercator-S company.

The event is accessible to people with physical disabilities.
