Artists from Novi Sad are participating in the ‘Tesla – Light Gallery’ programme, and their coordinators are Milica Stojšić, PhD, Novi Sad architect and artists in the area of light design, who also works at the Department of Stage Design within the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, as well as Stanislav Drča, a young artist from the area of art media.

Coming from the Novi Sad Faculty of Technical Sciences is also a group of graduates (Marija Varga, Danijela Matović, Milica Surutka, Jelena Ivančević and Nikola Stojadinović), who are presenting their work ‘svetLOST’ on the night of Doček.

The choreographer for the event is the young multi-award-winning Novi Sad dance artist Staša Kukić, while the music for the event was composed by Mirsolav Novaković.

They will be joined by the biggest regional and European music stars, that will complete the celebration on New Year’s Eve in Suburbium. Find out more at the following link.

Through the ‘svetLOST’ project, the social problem of light pollution will be presented, which is divided into several large categories: astronomy, nature, human health, culture and art, economy, and energy resources. The work will be located in the area of the Belgrade Gate, that is, inside the tunnel, on the right side.

The entrance is free of charge.

‘Tesla Light – Gallery’ is a product of the creative synergy of several famous international artists from different cities, who are proud of the European Capital of Culture title. A group of artists will take citizens through the inspiring spaces of the Baroque town, transformed through powerful art interventions. Space installations will reveal the different aspects of light as a tool for artistic expression that puts into focus diverse Tesla’s discoveries, as well as Tesla’s unfulfilled dreams.

The Rainbow Bridge, historic buildings in Beogradska Street and the Belgrade Gate itself – all architectural objects we will pass by – will be transformed into a monumental play of light, movement and sound through fixed, dynamic, wireless and interactive audio-visual lighting technologies, including 3D projections. But words are just not enough here: the light gallery is something you must experience live!
